Crosswalk is a performance/video piece that questions the Social Contract Theory. The act of obeying given signs and symbols at an intersection in a sense seems absurd. By playing on that absurdity, the performer walks the predetermined square continuously for thirty minutes. It is here where the line between performer and spectator captures the mundane actions of sitting at a stoplight and walking a crosswalk. Both controlled by a system of laws we assume others will follow.
